Learn to Play Hockey

Learn to Play Hockey is a class designed to introduce skaters (ages 5-15) to the game of ice hockey.  Throughout this class, skaters will be taught the rules of the game, along with positional play, puck control, shooting, passing, and skating techniques.

These 10 week classes are offered, on Tuesdays, three times throughout the year from September through May.  Participants are required to be members of ISI Hockey.  Membership may be paid for at time of class registration. 

All skaters enrolled in Learn to Play Hockey classes must have a Hockey Membership with the Ice Skating Institute (ISI). Please bring the completed form to the rink at the time of registration or email a completed form to:

Full Gear is required for all participants:

  • Hockey helmet with full cage
  • Hockey pants
  • Hockey gloves
  • Hockey elbow pads
  • Jock or Jill protective shorts with velcro
  • Hockey shin guards
  • Hockey shoulder pads
  • Hockey socks
  • Hockey jersey
  • Hockey stick
  • Hockey skates, sharpened
